At Optimum Ship Management we are passionate about preserving the marine environment, and we do our best to nurture and care for our beloved seas. We want to leave them in pristine condition for future generations.
In addition to the mandatory MARPOL regulations we are committed to following the guidelines and practices outlined by port state legislation and cruise industry bodies such as CLIA while staying abreast of new regulations. We take every opportunity to reduce the environmental impact of the ships we manage. Our environmental management system has been DNV/GL certified to ISO 14001, a globally recognized standard for the improvement of environmental performance.
Optimum Ship Management has implemented environmentally-friendly systems on board its vessels and in its Piraeus and Limassol offices: we do everything we can to reduce our carbon footprint. This includes the implementation of fuel efficiency measures and other initiatives to reduce emissions, including improved hull coatings, increased recirculation of waste heat and improved air conditioning efficiency. We also regularly investigate and evaluate new technologies that might help us further reduce our overall energy usage. The result? We either meet or exceed all marine and air pollution regulatory requirements.
