Mr. Melas is the person responsible to ensure the proper implementation of ISM/ISPS and ISO Codes both onboard the ships and in the office. He is also monitoring the safety and pollution prevention aspects of the operation of each ship, ensuring that adequate resources and shore based support are applied as required.
Mr. Melas joined the company in 1993 as Operations Assistant to take over the position of Safety Superintendent in the Safety & Quality Department in 1996. He is the Company’s DPA&CSO since 2006.
Mr. Melas is a graduate of the University of Newcastle upon Tyne and a holder of Marine Engineering degree.
